Creating Your Compelling Goal

Before we explore the time management skills that all successful online marketers have, I’d like to make a suggestion to help you get the most value from this course. When it comes to making a lot of money online nothing is more important than having a compelling goal — nothing!

Above all else knowing what you want to accomplish and why is critical to your achieving the success you want from your online business. There is no easy button that you can push to create a flood of dollars into your bank account. Making good money online takes work. Having a compelling goal, backed up by the reason you want to accomplish it, gives you the push you need to develop the habits that will propel you in to the ranks of profitable marketers.

So, let’s discuss how you can create your compelling goal and use it to create the online success that you want and deserve. Here is a 5 step process to help you:

1. Make a list of everything that you would like to get from your online business over the next five years. When making your list put everything you want to accomplish no matter how unrealistic or impossible you think it is.
2. Review each item on your list and ask yourself “Do I want to accomplish this in 1 year, 3 years, or 5 years?
3. Place a check mark next to all of your 1 year goals.
4. Prioritize your 1 year goals from the most important to the least important.
5. Select the one that excites you the most, the one that you really want to accomplish in the next year. This is your compelling goal.

Make a list of the tangible and intangible benefits that you will receive by accomplishing your goal.For example, by accomplishing this goal I will:

• Feel better because …

• Improve my business by …

• Be able to …  with my family

List every possible benefit, no matter how small or large.

Select the 3 or 4 most compelling benefits.

Now using these benefits write a brief statement describing why you are absolutely committed to reaching that goal.

For example, say your compelling goal is to earn $5,000 a month from your online business your statement might be:

Now that I am earning $5,000 a month for my online business I am able to spend more time with my family and have the financial resources to be able to do many of the things that we’ve always dreamed about. Plus, my business is growing by leaps and bounds because I have the time and resources needed to take it to the next level.

In closing today’s lesson I want to stress the importance of taking action on what we covered. Having a compelling goal can be the difference between your becoming a highly productive and profitable online marketer, or just muddling along trying to make success a reality.
