I try to take to time to laugh every day, hopefully this article will inspire you to do the same. Here are seven reasons you should get a good laugh every day:
It Feels Good!: Laughter is not only good for you, if feels great.Try being upset when you laugh, it can’t be done. We can all use more fun in our lives. Laughter makes us feel good, plain and simple.
It’s The Best Medicine: Research shows that laughter really is good for your health. Some of the many health benefits of laughter are:
- Strengthens your immune system
- Burns calories
- Makes you more alert by getting more blood flowing to your brain
- Helps you recover from sickness more quickly
- Balances your moods
- Reduces Stress by reducing the levels of the stress hormones cortisol and epinephrine in the body.
- Helps control your blood pressure by reducing stress hormones reduces which helps lower your blood pressure
- Laughter increases “feel-good molecules” called endorphins which give you a sense of euphoria and can alleviate pain in the body.
It seems the old saying is true: laughter really is the best medicine.
Makes You More Attractive To Others: Happy and positive people naturally attract others. Since we all want to feel good and since laughter is contagious, who would you rather be around a grouch or someone who has a sense of humor?
Increases Your Productivity Laughter energizes you and puts you in a better frame of mind to handle the challenges we all face throughout the day!
Look, Stay, and Feel Young: When you laugh, you tone the muscles in your face. The bloodflow also keeps your skin healthy, and you just look more fun and young when you let go and laugh!
Fight Depression: This one may seem pretty redundant, but laughter just makes your whole day better. It puts you in a better mood. It makes you sleep better, and people who laugh a lot do not need to rely on anti-depressants.
Makes Others Feel Good: When you share a laugh with someone, there’s no other beautiful feeling like it.
Action Steps: Take time for a good laugh every day. Try it for a week and watch how much better you feel and how much more productive you are. Watch at least one comedy a week, watch silly video clips on YouTube, listen to old radio comedy tapes, and look for reasons to laugh every day.
